Ponticelli transformation: Piloda Building drives a major urban regeneration project in Naples
Naples – Piloda Building is leading the redevelopment of the P4 residential complex in Ponticelli, one of Naples’ major urban regeneration projects. Worth approximately €30 million, the programme covers six residential buildings and 312 homes and is part of the national “Sicuro, Verde e Sociale” initiative. With around 50% of the works completed, the project aims to transform the area through improved living standards, energy efficiency, seismic safety and renewed public spaces.
A key element of the project is the regeneration of shared and community spaces, including landscaped courtyards, green areas, sports facilities, playgrounds, meeting spaces, a community garden and accessible pedestrian routes. New low-consumption LED lighting and sustainable irrigation systems will further improve the quality and usability of the neighbourhood while encouraging stronger connections between residents and their surroundings.
The buildings are also undergoing a substantial energy and structural upgrade, including ventilated façades, advanced thermal insulation, new windows, photovoltaic systems and targeted seismic reinforcement. These solutions are designed to improve indoor comfort, reduce energy consumption and give the entire residential complex a renewed architectural identity, while allowing works to progress with minimal disruption to residents.
With approximately 70 professionals currently involved on site, Piloda Building brings together construction expertise, advanced technologies and a strong focus on people and communities. The Ponticelli project reflects the company’s broader approach to urban regeneration: not simply renovating buildings, but creating safer, more sustainable and more inclusive places to live.
