Piloda Shipyard carries out extraordinary maintenance on HSC Isola di Capri
Naples – The HSC Isola di Capri arrived at Piloda Shipyard’s Naples facility for an extraordinary maintenance and overhaul program aimed at restoring the vessel’s mechanical and structural efficiency through a series of highly specialised operations.
The works include the dismantling of the shaft lines and renewal of the bushings, together with structural steelwork for the reconstruction of the bow and stern shell plating following detailed thickness measurements. At the same time, the vessel’s main engines and gearboxes were removed and transferred to a specialised workshop for complete overhaul.
Once these activities are completed, the propulsion system will undergo full realignment of the engines, gearboxes and propeller shafts, in accordance with the required tolerances, to ensure reliability and operational continuity.
The intervention reflects Piloda Shipyard’s integrated approach to complex maintenance projects, combining marine engineering, ship carpentry and specialised technical expertise to support vessel safety, efficiency and long-term performance.
