Piloda Defence and VN Maritime launch joint production of 40 vessels for the Italian Coast Guard
Naples – Piloda Shipyard, through its Piloda Defence division, and VN Maritime Technologies have officially launched the joint production programme for 40 high-performance 15-meter vessels for the Italian Coast Guard. The agreement marks a major step in the strategic cooperation between the two companies, combining Italian shipbuilding capabilities with Turkish engineering expertise to address increasingly complex maritime security requirements.
The programme is based on an integrated industrial model that brings together engineering, supply chain expertise and production capabilities. Designed for demanding Search and Rescue, coastal security and patrol operations, the vessels will feature MAN engines supplied and supported by Ranieri Tonissi and HamiltonJet waterjet propulsion through Vulkan Italia, ensuring reliability, maneuverability and operational performance.
The project represents an important milestone in the development of Piloda Defence as a Mediterranean hub for military and paramilitary shipbuilding. The partnership with VN Maritime also creates a platform for future cooperation on increasingly advanced naval solutions, including manned and unmanned surface vessels, while strengthening technological capabilities and specialized expertise within Piloda Shipyard’s production network.
Donato Di Palo, CEO of Piloda Shipyard: “This programme demonstrates our ability to manage complex institutional projects and turn our shipbuilding capabilities into a strategic asset. Together with VN Maritime and our technology partners, we are building an industrial model that brings advanced expertise and technology into our production facilities while opening the way to a new generation of naval platforms.”
