Piloda Shipyard launches “Annamaria”: a new 143-meter floating dock for Mediterranean refit.

Naples – With the commissioning of “Annamaria”, a 143-meter floating dock with a 6,000-tonne lifting capacity, Piloda Shipyard marks a major step in the development of Naples as a strategic naval refit hub in the Mediterranean. Designed to accommodate vessels up to 143 meter, the new infrastructure will serve public, private and commercial shipowners, as well as the growing requirements of the naval defence sector.

Equipped with integrated digital systems, independent onboard utilities and low-impact environmental solutions, “Annamaria” introduces new levels of efficiency, sustainability and operational flexibility. Following a technical voyage of more than 1,000 nautical miles to Naples, the dock will enable Piloda Shipyard to handle multiple vessels simultaneously, improving turnaround times and optimising operational costs.

Backed by an investment of more than €15 million, the new floating dock strengthens Piloda Shipyard’s industrial strategy in naval refit, maintenance and defence, while generating new opportunities for employment and local industry. The project further reinforces Naples’ role as a strategic centre for the Mediterranean blue economy.
