Casa Romei / Ferrara

A silent treasure, a corner of Ferrara where time seems to stand still to offer a space for contemplation and wonder, this is Casa Romei whose restoration will be completed in September 2025.

Restoring this architectural gem is a privilege that we have welcomed with humility, passion and the utmost respect. Behind the discreet door that leads to the house, a world of history and art opens up. Here, nothing can be left to chance: every stone, every brick, every finish is part of a harmonious whole that requires infinite care, an attention that borders on devotion. The decorated coffers, the refined facades, the walls that preserve traces of extraordinary beauty are treated with expert hands and eyes trained to grasp every nuance. Yet, our work does not stop at the past. The works at Casa Romei will transform the ticket office, services, offices and library, eliminating architectural barriers and renewing systems and lighting. The new tour itinerary will include spaces that have been neglected until now, such as the courtyard of the Sibyls, the secret dressing rooms and the attic. Work will be done on the deteriorated plaster and on the ceilings decorated with delicate painted papers. Between November and March, the museum will be closed, but in the following months visits will resume with alternating closures. Even in the most technical operations, such as demolitions, respect is absolute: every gesture is measured, every noise reduced to a minimum, because in this place silence is part of its identity.
