Amerigo Vespucci Ship
The Amerigo Vespucci, launched in 1931 at the Royal Naval Shipyard of Castellammare di Stabia, is one of the most prestigious training ships of the Italian Navy, a symbol of naval tradition and mastery.
Designed by engineer Francesco Rotundi, the ship recalls nineteenth-century frigates and is known throughout the world for its elegance and for the training role played in the preparation of cadets.
Over the years, the iconic ship has stopped at our shipyards in Naples for essential maintenance and restoration work. Helping to preserve the functionality and historical charm of the Amerigo Vespucci. The main works carried out include the restoration of the planking and wooden structures, the maintenance of the masts and sails, the overhaul of the metal components and the improvement of the on-board systems. These interventions have always respected the historical integrity of the ship, integrating modern technologies to guarantee its safety and longevity.
Thanks to these maintenance works, the Amerigo Vespucci continues to proudly represent the Italian maritime tradition, sailing the seas as an ambassador of naval culture and craftsmanship throughout the world.
